Woman getaway driver charged with murder, attempted murder

Nassau, BAHAMAS- A 21-year-old woman accused of playing a role in a triple shooting that left 25-year-old Dario Dawkins dead has been charged.

Marquella Dean, the alleged getaway driver for the shooters , is charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the August 24 incident.

According to police, three gunmen who emerged from a silver car shot Dawkins, Anton Davis and a four-year-old boy as they stood in front of a home at the junction of Rupert Dean Lane and Ferguson Street.

All of the shooting victims were taken to the hospital, where Dawkins died.

Dean didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges when she made an initial court appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and she returns to court on November 23.

This isn’t the first time Dean has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

She was on bail for the 2018 shooting death of Sean Augustin and the attempted murder of Jason Campbell when the incident occurred.
