Second home-invasion suspect murdered

NASSAU- A second suspect in the home-invasion armed robbery of businessman Andrew Wilson has been murdered while on bail.

Akandi Gibson was gunned down outside his home in Garden Hills shortly before 1pm on Friday, June 23.

According to police, two masked gunmen shot Gibson as he sat in the passenger side of a car. He died on the scene.

Coincidentally, Gibson’s co-accused, Randy Williams, was murdered last June.

Two thugs gunned down Williams in an ambush as he left the gym on the campus of the A F Adderley Junior High School after playing basketball.

Prosecutors say Gibson, Williams, and Dominic Stuart and forced their way into the Wilson’s home around 9pm on December 30, 2021.

They allegedly tied up the family and robbed them of jewelry and cash before Williams and Gibson took Mr Wilson and his wife to the Mall at Marathon.

While there, they allegedly forced Mr Wilson to give them money from the safe in his store, QBC Electronics.

Stuart, the remaining suspect, is expected to be tried in July 2024.
