Parents charged in son’s death don’t make bail

Nassau, BAHAMAS- A mother and father accused of causing the death of their two-year-old son through negligence remain in prison, despite being granted $9,500 bail each on Tuesday.

Demargio Thurston, 23, and Sabrina Henry, 20, are accused of causing the death of their son Jeremiah Thurston on August 12.

On the day in question, the toddler was found unresponsive after his head reportedly got stuck in a window while driving with his parents.

Thurston and Henry could face up to five years’ imprisonment, if convicted of manslaughter by negligence.

Thurston and Henry will return to court on November 23 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

They will remain in custody until their sureties are approved.
