Nassau, Bahamas -Police are investigating two separate gang-related murders that happened around the same time in different areas of New Providence Tuesday afternoon.

The victims Romero Rolle and Pedreito Mejias belonged to rival gangs.

Around 2:30 p.m, Rolle, 23, was driving on Wulff Road, near Minnie Street, when he was cut off by a white van.

A gunman exited the van and opened fire on Rolle, who was mowed down in the street as he tried to run away.

At the time of his murder, Rolle was on bail for three murders that occurred in 2018, 2021 and 2022.

Almost simultaneously, Mejias was shot dead several miles away in Flamingo Gardens.

He was a passenger in a car when the occupants of another vehicle opened fire on them at Bahamas Boulevard.

The driver lost control of the car at Montgomery Avenue. He exited the car, leaving Mejias behind. When police responded to the shooting, they found Mejias’ bullet-riddled body in the car.

Mejias was released from prison on April 5 after being accused of the attempted murder of a gang rival last year. He was also on bail for a murder that took place in 2018.
