Two charged with murder in road rage stabbing

NASSAU- Two young men are behind bars after prosecutors say they dragged a motorist from his car and fatally stabbed him after a traffic accident.

Jonathan Griffin, 21, was driving with a 16-year-old Haitian national when they got into an accident with Andrew Sturrup on February 2 at Fifth Street and Palm Tree Avenue.

The men allegedly attacked Sturrup, killing him in the street.

The suspects fled for their lives and abandoned their car after onlookers came to Sturrup’s defence.

They surrendered to police on February 3 and confessed.

The accused were not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when they appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes today.

They were denied bail and return to court on March 24.

Ian Cargill represented the juvenile; Griffin did not have a lawyer.
