Shoplifter warned to stay out of trouble

NASSAU- A shoplifter has been warned to stay out of trouble for the next six months.

Loaynes Bernard, 58, of Boyd Road, put toothpaste, soap and a pack of boxer shorts into her shopping bag and walked out of Cost Right Wholesale Club without paying on February 25. The items are worth $72.97.

An employee confronted Bernard in the parking lot and called police.

She pleaded guilty to stealing from a shop at arraignment.

If Bernard gets into trouble, she would have to pay a $500 fine to avoid spending one month in prison.
