Robbery suspect in hospital after he’s hit by car

NASSAU-An armed robber is in hospital after he met his match on Thursday.

Police say a robbery victim turned the tables on a robber when he knocked him down with a car.

According to police, the lone gunman ordered a man and woman out of a car on Haven Road around 6pm.

They both complied. But as the gunman robbed his female companion, the man got back into the car and knocked down the robber.

Before police arrived, a man who witnessed the incident took the robber’s gun from the scene.

Officers arrested that man later in the day. Police found a .40 Glock pistol when they searched his home at Balfour Avenue.

Meanwhile, police are looking for two bandits who robbed a shop on Joe Farrington Road.

The masked men robbed a cashier at gunpoint of an unknown amount of cash around 1pm.

The robbers fled on foot.
