Defence Force officer held on illegal gun rap

FREEPORT -Police in Grand Bahama arrested a Defence Force Officer after they found him with a loaded gun Saturday night.

The officers were on an islandwide special operation when they received a report of a “suspicious man” walking near a club on the Mall Road around 10pm.

The officers responded and stopped a man who fit the description of the suspect.

During a search, the officers found a black and sliver Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with 10 rounds of ammunition in his waist. Police later learned the man was a Defence Force officer.
