Armed robbery charge dropped against couple

NASSAU- Prosecutors have dropped charges against a couple accused of robbing a man of $50 at gunpoint.

Anita McDonald and her boyfriend Dontee Riley were arrested and charged in August 2018 after they were accused of the July 17, 2018 armed robbery of Wesley Smith.

McDonald and Riley were not given bail and remained in custody until prosecutors withdrew the charge.

Their trial was supposed to begin on January 18 before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minnis.

But the Director of Public Prosecutions Garvin Gaskin issued a nolle prosequi, resulting in their discharge.
