Griffin is 2nd murdered jewelry store employee

NASSAU-Murder victim Leon Griffin is the second person connected to the Parklane jewelry stores to be shot dead.

An unknown assailant shot Griffin in the head on Thursday, December 23 outside his home on Roberts Street in Winton Meadows.

His wife, former Social Services Minister Melanie Griffin, found him in their driveway slumped over the wheel of his car around 8pm.

Griffin was a shareholder in Treasures Bahamas, which operates the Parklane jewelry stores.

On August 12, the company’s accountant Biswajit Pati was ambushed by a gunman at his home in Tuckaway off Village Road 5:30pm. He died in hospital the following day.

Treasures Bahamas is locked in a $34 million court battle with its supplier.

Satish Daryanani, principal of Miami-based Sovereign Jewelry, claims he’s owed for jewelry and cash loans.
