NASSAU- The family of Maurice Pinder, one of the victims of the April 15 mass murder, has launched a fundraiser to help with his burial.
Pinder and five of his friends were killed when masked gunmen opened fire on the car they were traveling in at the junction of Jerome Avenue and Chesapeake Road. A 19-year-old woman and a two-year-old were injured but survived the attack.
The murders happened shortly after the men were released from a police station after they were quizzed on an illegal gun charge.
Sadly, Pinder’s family doesn’t have the $6,000 to bury him.
The fundraiser said Pinder’s family is in “dire financial need.”
At the time of publishing, $440 of the goal had been met.
