NASSAU – Three men abandoned a bus loaded with 3,000 pounds of marijuana during an early morning police pursuit.
Police received a tip that a jitney was transporting a load of drugs around 3am.
Officers from the Drug Enforcement and Operations Units pursued the bus into Boatswain Hill.
The occupants of the bus jettisoned several crocus bags of marijuana from the vehicle during the chase.
The suspects eventually fled into bushes, leaving behind 100 bags of marijuana.
The drugs weighed 3,053 pounds and have an estimated street value of $3,053,000.
