2 accused in Crown land sale scheme

NASSAU- A man and a woman are accused of conning people into giving them money for land they didn’t own.

Hertha Jenkins, of Monastery Park, and Dawson Bullard, of Garden Hills, allegedly duped 17 people into giving them $61,500 for Crown Land applications.

Then, they allegedly told the potential applicants that their applications were approved.

Based on this, some people started building on the lots at Carmichael Village.

Jenkins and Bullard pleaded not guilty to the fraud related charges at their arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on Monday.

She set an April 13 trial date and granted them $10,000 each.

Ian Cargill and Bjorn Ferguson represent the accused.
