NASSAU- A teenager accused of shooting a man in defense of his mother has been charged with attempted murder.
Prosecutors allege that Ajaro Jackson, 19, shot Jean Alexandre in the head on December 19 at a home in BozineTown.
According to initial police reports, the shooting happened when Jackson allegedly intervened in a dispute between his mother and her boyfriend.
Police allegedly retrieved an XDS 40 pistol and five rounds of ammunition from the scene.
Jackson also faces charges of possession of a firearm ammunition.
He was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
Jackson was denied bail.
He didn’t have a lawyer and was advised of his right to apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
Jackson will return to court in February.
