Nassau, BAHAMAS- In a shocking turn of events, Georgia mom Lindsay Shiver and her two alleged conspirators were granted emergency bail on Tuesday—thanks to their alleged target.
The prosecutor withdrew an objection to their release after speaking to Shiver’s estranged husband, Robert Shiver, the court heard.
Mrs Shiver, her alleged lover, Terrance Bethel, and Faron Newbold Jr, the man allegedly recruited to carry out the murder, been detained since their arrest on July 21.
Police officers stumbled across WhatsApp messages about the alleged murder plot during a search of Bethel’s phone while he was being questioned about a break-in at Grabber’s Bar and Grill on Guana Cay.
Shiver was granted $100,000 cash bail. She has to wear an ankle bracelet and remain in The Bahamas until her October 5 court appearance.
Meanwhile, Bethel and Newbold were each granted $20,000 bail.
They’ll also be fitted with tracking devices and have to sign in at the Marsh Harbour Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays before 6pm.
All of the accused have to surrender their travel documents and they are banned from deliberate contact with the alleged victim.
Despite being granted bail, the accused will remain in detention until their sureties are approved by the court.
