Lindsay Shiver, alleged lover, accused hitman denied emergency bail bid

Nassau, BAHAMAS- An American woman, her alleged lover and an accused hitman will remain behind bars for the foreseeable future after their application for emergency bail was denied on Friday.

Lindsay Shiver, 36, of Baker’s Bay, Abaco, and Thomasville, George, her alleged lover, Terrance Bethel and Faron Roberts Jr, both of Abaco, are charged with plotting to murder Shiver’s estranged husband, Robert Shiver on July 21.

Police discovered the alleged plot while investigating a break-in at Grabbers Bar and Grill, where Bethel worked as a bartender.

Detectives haven’t solved the break-in; however, a series of WhatsApp conversations allegedly revealed the trio’s plan to bump off Shiver.

The accused were denied bail on the murder conspiracy charge after they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on July 28.

Their legal team filed an urgent bai application in an attempt to have them released the same day.

However, the application was denied because the prosecution is objecting to their release and none of the accused are sick, juveniles, elderly or pregnant.

Emergency bail applications are heard within 48 hours of filing.

To date, a new bail application hasn’t been filed.

The accused face a potential sentence of 30 to 60 years in prison if convicted—the same penalty they’d face if they were found guilty of murder.
