Shoplifter gets probation

NASSAU-A jobless woman tried to steal children’s clothing worth $507 from Kelly’s last month.

Store security stopped Travinique Belfour before she walked out the store with the merchandise in her bag on August 27.

Belfour offered to pay for the stolen goods. But it’s company policy to call in cops.

Belfour,, of Fox Dale, pleaded guilty to stealing from a shop at her arraignment today.

Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis sentenced Belfour to probation for one year. If she gets into trouble during the probationary period, she’ll have to pay a $500 fine to avoid spending nine months in prison.
