Nassau, BAHAMAS- A mother and father are being held criminally responsible after their two-year-old son died in their care.
Demargio Thurston, 23, and Sabrina Henry, 20, face a potential maximum sentence of five years of prison if convicted of manslaughter by negligence.
The parents were driving on Robinson and Old Trail Roads on August 12 when other motorists alerted them that their son Jeremiah Thurston’s head was stuck in the window.
The toddler, who was unresponsive, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The accused were not required to plead to the charge of manslaughter by negligence when they made an initial appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.
The magistrate will hold a bail hearing on August 22.
