NFL player arrested with drugs at airport

Mohamed Sanu

NASSAU-Police arrested a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers at the Lynden Pindling International Airport after authorities found drugs in his backpack.

Mohamed Aasin Sanu, 31, was headed to Atlanta on April 2 when Customs and Border Patrol officers selected him for a random search.

The officers found an ounce of marijuana, three marijuana spliffs and edibles in Sanu’s backpack during the search.

However, Sanu didn’t spend the weekend in custody. Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit gave him bail to appear in court on April 6.

He pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of dangerous drugs at an arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes and was granted an absolute discharge.
