NASSAU- A man who dashed out of a sporting goods store wearing shoes and socks he hadn’t paid for has been jailed.
Dion Hall, 49, went to Hoffer Sports on Bay Street on December 23 and tried on a pair of Reebok tennis shoes and Nike socks, with a total value of $135.89.
He sprinted out of the store with the security guard in pursuit.
Hall pleaded guilty to stealing from a shop.
He claimed that his feet were hurting but he couldn’t afford a new pair of shoes.
The magistrate sentenced Hall, an admitted drug user, to two months in prison. He’s also to undergo drug counseling during that period.
