NASSAU- man caught with marijuana and ammunition in his home will spend at least three years in prison.
Hiram Rolle, 37, will spend an additional year in prison if he doesn’t pay a fine of $100,000.
Police seized 215 pounds of marijuana, five rounds of ammunition and a magazine for an assault rifle when they raided Hiram Rolle’s residence in Stapledon Gardens on September 22.
He pleaded guilty to drug possession with intent to supply, conspiracy to possess drugs with intent to supply, possession of a component part of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
Rolle was present when police executed the search warrant.
After the discovery, Rolle told the officers that his cousin had told him to “hold down the fort.”
Defense lawyer Dion Smith said Rolle had made a stupid mistake and he was remorseful.
This is not the first time that Rolle has been to prison.
He was sentenced to 2 ½ years for gun possession in 2017.
Police shot Rolle in the chest and back after he pointed a 9mm pistol at them during a pursuit.
