NASSAU- A man has been charged with the murder of four-year-old Kenton Seymour Jr who was caught in the crossfire of a shooting.
Police have charged 22-year-old Shanton Munroe, whose street name is Scum Dum, with murder and other offenses stemming from the July 26 incident.
Prosecutors say Munroe was shooting at Dasheano Joseph on Fleming Street when the innocent toddler was shot and killed.
Kenton’s parents, Kenton Seymour Sr and Norma Smith, were taking him for ice cream when their car was hit by a stray bullet.
In addition to facing the murder charge, Munroe is charged with the attempted murders of Kenton’s parents and Joseph.
He’s also accused of having a gun to endanger their lives.
Munroe told Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt that he had been falsely accused.
Munroe was remanded to prison because the magistrate doesn’t have the power to grant bail for the offenses.
However, he can apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
Munroe’s next court date is December 7.
