Insurance boss denies indecent assault on co-worker

ABACO- A manager at a leading insurance company accused of indecently touching a female colleague has been charged.

Innocent Gelin, 47, was let go from Family Guardian after the alleged incident.

He pleaded not guilty on Monday to a charge of indecent assault over the incident that allegedly took place at the Abaco Beach Resort on March 26.

Gelin and his 38-year-old accuser were in Abaco for a business trip. The woman had been drinking and Gelin was supposed to escort her to her room.

However, prosecutors allege that he took her to his room and fondled her without her consent.

Magistrate Ancella Evans released Gelin on $5,000 bail and scheduled his trial for September 2.

As a condition of bail, he has to sign in at the South Western Police Station in Grand Bahama before 6pm on Fridays.

He is also banned from contacting his accuser and coming within 50 feet from her.
