Family of raped teen tourist sues hotel for $10m

NASSAU- An American family has blamed negligent security at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau for the rape of their 15-year-old daughter.

Businessman Henry Richard Nixon, 59, better known as Ricky Nixon, is on $9,500 bail pending trial.

He’s accused of raping the girl who was vacationing with her family at the hotel on April 4, 2021.

The girl’s father is suing the resort for $10 million for allegedly failing to protect his daughter, for lack of security and for allowing Nixon onto the property. The suit was filed in Florida.

Nixon, the owner of IMC Awnings and Shutters, is accused of luring the teenager to a cabana on the property and raping her.

The girl wandered off on the property and her family tracked her location through her phone.

The girl’s father allegedly caught Nixon sexually assaulting his daughter—and pulled him off of her her.
