Disorder in the Court: defendant punches cop

NASSAU – A hot-headed defendant sucker-punched a policeman in open court today after cursing out a magistrate.

The shocking incident unfolded after Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans adjourned his case for causing harm and disorderly behaviour because no witnesses were present.

Ironically, the man began acting in a disorderly manner when he unleashed an expletive-laced tirade towards to the magistrate.

The fuming man tried to storm out of the courtroom when a policeman blocked his path. That’s when the man punched the officer in his eye, causing him to bleed.

The defendant then fought with multiple officers, who eventually subdued him.

The man expected to face a charge of causing harm to the officer.
