Nassau, BAHAMAS-A man accused of killing his mother is back behind bars after a judge revoked his $25,000 bail.
Sean Laing was remanded to prison on Tuesday for missing his arraignment on August 4.
Unless his bail is reinstated, Laing will remain in custody until his November 2024 trial for the March 7, 2022 death of 84-year-old Pearl Laing.
She was found dead in her home at Windsor Place that she shared with the accused. An autopsy revealed that she was strangled.
Laing claimed that he was given the wrong date for his arraignment. However, Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson did not accept his excuse and revoked his bail.
She said this would ensure that Laing wouldn’t miss any more court dates.
Laing pleaded not guilty to the murder charge before he was taken into custody.
