Anger classes for cutlass assault

NASSAU-A man has admitted threatening his neighbour while wielding a cutlass.

Devon Johnson pleaded guilty to assaulting Kristoff Campbell with a dangerous instrument.

The incident happened at Minnie Street on June 26 and was caught on surveillance footage. Johnson did not injure Campbell.

Johnson confronted Campbell after he allegedly threatened his mother, defence lawyer David Cash told the court.

Mr Cash said the family intended to leave the area to prevent further clashes.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes sentenced Johnson to probation for one year and ordered him to attend anger management classes.

He’ll get an absolute discharge once he complies with the court’s order. On the other hand, he could be jailed for four months for disobedience.
