Man charged with Leon Griffin murder

Nassau, Bahamas- A man linked to multiple killings was today charged with the murder of businessman Leon Griffin.

Demargio Lockhart, 20, of Charles Vincent Street, is accused of shooting Griffin in the head outside his Winton Meadows home on December 23.

Before he allegedly bumped off Griffin, prosecutors say that Lockhart killed three other people and attempted to kill three more.

They say that Lockhart fatally shot Pablo Moss and Melvin Johnson and tried to kill Dion Bethel in a November 23, 2021 shooting through Quakoo Street.

He’s also charged with the August 14, 2021 murder of Trainee Immigration Officer Lanisha Armbrister and the attempted murder of Drazen Dean in Victoria Gardens.

Lockhart is also accused of the November 28, 2021 attempted murder of Leonardo Collie.

Lockhart was not required to enter pleas to the murder and attempted murder charges when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on January 17.

He has been denied bail and returns to court on May 9.
