FREEPORT- A man has been accused of attempting to rape a 74-year-old woman in Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama.
Police say that Eric O’Neil Strachan is responsible for the crime that allegedly occurred on February 15.
Strachan, 36, of Andros Town, Hanna Hill, did not have a lawyer when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson on a charge of attempted rape.
Strachan was denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections in New Providence.
Strachan returns to court on May 19 to receive a voluntary bill of indictment that will send his matter to the Supreme Court.
