NASSAU-A man who was caught on camera stealing shingles and paint from a home could face one year in prison, if he doesn’t compensate his victim.
Trevor Gray, 54, pleaded guilty to stealing 32 bundles of shingles and 12 gallons of paint from Gail Byer-Branon between July 5 and 6. He also admitted to trespassing on her property.
Ms. Byer-Branon discovered the items were missing when she checked the home she was renovating in Ferguson Subdivision.
After checking her security cameras, she recognized the thief as Gray who frequented the area.
Magistrate Samuel McKinney ordered Gray to reimburse Ms Byer-Branin $1,393, the value of the stolen items, and fined him $500.
Failure to comply will result in a one-year prison sentence.
