Charges upgraded after shooting victim died

NASSAU – A 27-year-old man is now facing a murder charge after a shooting victim died in hospital months later.

Farron Palmer, 27, of Dunmore Street, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney today charged with the murder of Jerone Thompson.

Prosecutors initially charged Palmer with attempted murder over the March 28 shooting In Chippingham.

They upgraded the charge to murder after Thompson died in hospital on May 14.

Palmer was already in custody for the attempted murder.

He next returns to court on August 11.
