NASSAU-A second suspect has been arrested and charged in the murders of a 10-year-old girl and another man.
Donald Cox, 24, of Bamboo Boulevard, made his initial court appearance before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes on Thursday afternoon.
Police had issued a wanted poster for Cox last week.
Prosecutors say Cox and others are responsible for a triple shooting on May 29 in Bel Air Estates that killed fifth grader Lorencia Walkes and Peron Bain. Leroy Sands received serious injuries during the same shooting.
Cox did not enter a plea to the charges when he made his initial court appearance before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
Police charged Cox’s alleged partner Delanzo Cartwright, 22, of Pinewood Gardens on June 11.
Cox joined Cartwright on remand at The Bahamas Department of Corrections after the magistrate refused bail.
They both return to court on October 8 to receive a voluntary bill of indictment.
According to police, a group of people were outside a home on Iguana Way in Bel Air Estates when three gunmen emerged from a gold car and opened fire.
Bain died at the scene. Meanwhile, Walkes, a fifth grader at Sybil Strachan Primary, remained in hospital until her death on June 7.
