2 charged in stray bullet killing of woman headed to church

Nassau, Bahamas- Police say they have caught the culprits responsible for the murder of a woman who was struck by stray bullets.

Claudette Capron, 60, was headed to a prayer meeting at Resurrection Power Kingdom Ministry on January 18 when she became an unintended target. She was struck in the chest and head by stray bullets in the church’s parking lot.

James Knowles, 30, of Ida Street, and Jarado Marshall, 18, of Old Cedar Street, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney today charged with Capron’s murder.

Prosecutors say Knowles and Marshall attempted to murder Antwan Adderley and Emilio Ramsey during the same shooting.

They’re further accused of robbing Kendra Ramsey of a 2011 Honda Fit at gunpoint.

And Marshall alone is accused of receiving the stolen vehicle.

Knowles and Marshall were not required to enter pleas to the charges.

They were denied bail and return to court on March 25.
