2 charged in caught-on camera robbery bid

NASSAU- Two men have been charged regarding an attempted armed robbery at Budget Food Store last month that was caught on surveillance camera.

Prosecutors say Joshua Duncanson and Samuel Higgs, while armed with loaded guns, entered the Nassau Village Store on September 30 and demanded cash.

However, the would-be robbers fled empty-handed after a security fired at them with his licensed shotgun.

A short time later, police arrested two men at a home on Alexander Street, Nassau Village and seized a Maverick shotgun and a 9mm pistol.

Duncanson and Higgs were remanded to prison charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following an appearance before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

They are set to return to court on December 16.
