Two charged in fatal hold-up

NASSAU- The motive behind a shooting that left a man dead was armed robbery, according to prosecutors.

John Butterfield, 20, is accused of fatally shooting Alfred Lightbourne Jr at Washington Street after robbing him of $250 on May 30.

Cabreo Cash, 19, is charged with abetment to the murder and armed robbery.

Both suspects live through Washington Street.

They were not required to enter pleas to the charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

The men were denied bail and are next due in court on August 26.
