NASSAU-A murder suspect has proof of injuries sustained while in police custody.
Tyshawn Moxey, 19, had a doctor document the state of his before he surrendered to police for questioning about the September 13 murder of Danton Woods.
His lawyer Jomo Campbell said the physical showed that Moxey was “free from bruises, scratches and injuries.”
However, Campbell alleged that police dislocated Moxey’s right, pinky finger, bruised his face and suffocated him in an attempt to make him confess.
Moxey didn’t have to enter a plea to the charge that he fatally shot Woods, a 44-year-old expectant father, in front of his home on Hawthorne Road at his first court appearance.
Moxey has been denied bail and returns to court on December 4 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes directed prison authorities to give Moxey medical care.
