Pastor on trial for kissing 13-year-old student

Pastor Thomas Nottage is on trial for the indecent assault of a girl, 13

NASSAU- Pastor Thomas Nottage is on trial for kissing a 13-year-old student at the school where he served as principal.

Nottage is accused of calling the girl into his office on January 29, 2020, as she waited to be picked up from Grace Christian School of Excellence and kissing her against her will.

Nottage is the pastor of Grace Evangelical Ministries.

The alleged victim’s friend was the first witness to take the stand when the indecent assault trial began before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

The 16-year-old is a former student of Nottage’s school.

She recalled how Nottage called her friend into the office while they waited on their rides.

The witness said when her friend returned, her demeanour had changed.

She said her friend was “shaking and appeared to be scared and her eyes were red like she wanted to cry.”

The concerned friend asked her friend why she was upset.

When her friend finally regained her composure, she confided that Nottage had kissed her.

The teen witness said she advised her friend to tell her mother what had happened. She cautioned her, “You shouldn’t stay silent about something like thing because you don’t know what will happen next time.”

The friend took her advice. She said her friend’s uncle stormed into the school’s office after spoke to him in the car.

The case continues.
