NASSAU- A 25-year-old Sandals employee stole $7,278.36 from the company’s safe and used most of the cash to buy a used car.
Rashad Kevin Taylor’s boss called in cops after he confessed to the crime this week.
Taylor, who worked as a general cashier, said he desperately needed a car. So, he stole to fund the purchase of a 2011 Suzuki Swift.
He pleaded guilty to charges of stealing by reason of employment and money laundering at an arraignment before Magistrate Kendra Kelly.
The magistrate fined Taylor $4,000, with the option of serving eight months’ imprisonment instead. He was also ordered to repay the stolen cash.
