NASSAU- Security guard Trevon Stevens raped his girlfriend two days before he killed her and her eight-year-old daughter, prosecutors say.
Police found Alicia Sawyer, 30, and Edinique Wallace, murdered in their home in Nassau Village on September 28.
Multiple police units searched for Stevens without success regarding the rape complaint made on September 26.
He turned himself into police hours after the murder after police circulated his wanted poster.
Prosecutors say that Stevens, 36, of Garden Hills, is responsible for both crimes.
He was not required to enter pleas to the rape and murder charges when he appeared in court today.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes remanded Stevens to prison and adjourned the matters to December 3.
Attorney Tonique Lewis appeared for Stevens.
Stevens has a history of violence against women.
He was sentenced to three years imprisonment in 2016 after he admitted to breaking into an ex-girlfriend’s house and shooting her.
