Nassau, BAHAMAS – A man on bail for murder was killed the day before a date could be set for his trial.
Phillano Williams, a member of the Grove Hot Niggas gang, was scheduled to appear before Justice Gregory Hilton for a fixture hearing.
However, the 34-year-old gunned near his home in Sunset Park the day before.
At the time of his death, prosecutors had failed to try Williams for his alleged involvement in four murders. He was granted bail due to delays in bringing him to trial on the allegations.
Justice Hilton, however, set an August 2024 trial date for Williams’ co-accused, Terry Sweeting.
Prosecutors alleged that both men took part in the 2017 murder of shooting death of Leslie Rolle at Ferguson Subdivision.
Williams was accused of abetting him in the commission of the murder.
Sweeting is also on bail.
