Man jailed for beating up girlfriend’s sons

NASSAU- A man who was babysitting for his girlfriend mercilessly beat her sons, ages four and five, after flying into a rage because of their crying.

Patrico Taylor, 28, pummeled the children until they were covered in bruises.

Taylor committed the horrific act on July 24 while the children’s mother was at work.

But 38-year-old mother of seven didn’t call police when she saw how he had battered her children.

The boys live with their father. He had asked their mother to keep them because he had a job interview in Exuma.

The father canceled his travel plans after he learned what happened to his children.

Taylor, 28, had initially denied charges of child cruelty. However, he pleaded guilty on Friday, October 22 before the prosecution called witnesses at his trial.

Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans sentenced Taylor to one year in prison.

The girlfriend pleaded guilty on August 13 to failing to report the abuse. She was sentenced to four months in prison.
