NASSAU- A man caught with a loaded gun has been jailed for 30 months.
Neville Wilson, 35, dropped the 9mm pistol as he tried to outrun a team of three officers from the Elizabeth Estates Police Station on January 21.
The officers went to Swaziland Crest in response to reports that a man with a firearm was walking in the area.
The police officers stopped when they saw Wilson, who the fit the description of the suspect.
That’s when Wilson pulled the gun from his waistband, dropped it on the grass and ran. But the officers caught Wilson after a short chase. They returned him to the area where he dropped 9mm pistol, which was loaded with nine rounds of ammunition.
Wilson, of Malaysia Way, Elizabeth Estates pleaded guilty to charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition at his arraignment.
