NASSAU – A man is facing fraud charges after prosecutors say he made a fake deposit at an ATM.
Araman Scott appeared in court on charges of attempted fraud by false pretences and fraud by false pretences.
Prosecutors say Scott deposited $3,000 at ATM at Royal Bank of Canada on Carmichael Road in April 2020.
Scott allegedly attempted to withdraw the all of the money immediately, but the ATM did not allow the transaction.
However, the ATM allowed him to withdraw $480 from the account.
But when bank staff verified the deposit the envelope only contained $10.
Scott denied the charges at his arraignment. He was granted $5,000 bail and returns to court for trial on June 9.
