NASSAU- A man charged in the biggest cocaine bust of the year has been granted $50,000 bail.
Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Kenly Guerrier in connection with the November 15 seizure of 250 kilos of cocaine.
The officers swarmed Guerrier’s apartment at Russell Town, Eight Mile Rock and carried out a search warrant.
They didn’t find anything illegal in that unit. However, Guerrier allegedly had a key that unlocked the apartment next door.
While searching the second a, officers allegedly found nine suitcases containing cocaine.
Guerrier has denied charges of drug importation, drug possession with intent to supply and conspiracy to commit those offences.
Magistrate Samuel McKinney has ordered Guerrier to wear an ankle bracelet as a condition of bail.
Guerrier’s trial is set for March 26, 2022. He’s represented by Ryszard Humes, and Inspector Timothy Bain is the prosecutor.
