NASSAU – A man who beat his niece with a pipe has been fined.
Kalsey Cox Jr, 24, of Cottonwood Street, pleaded guilty to child cruelty at his arraignment on Friday.
Cox grabbed the pipe and whaled the nine-year-old girl across her buttocks after she wouldn’t stop swinging from a railing, the court heard.
The child was taken to hospital with visible injuries.
Cox had to pay a $1,000 in order to avoid spending six months in prison.
