Jamaican accused of trafficking cocaine

NASSAU- A Jamaican man is facing multiple charges after prosecutors say he went to a courier company to collect a package of cocaine.

Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) Dion Crooks, 39, on December 3.

DEU and Customs Officers found five kilos of cocaine, with a street value of $80,000, in the package on November 24.

Crooks was charged with conspiracy to possession drugs with intent to supply, conspiracy to import drugs, drug possession with intent to supply and drug importation.

Crooks denied all charges. He didn’t have a lawyer during his arraignment before Magistrate Samuel McKinney and was denied bail. He returns to court for trial on January 19, 2021.
