Inmate charged in prison murder

NASSAU- A prisoner has claimed that corrections officers framed him for the murder of another inmate.

Diallo Williamson, 33, appeared in court on January 26 charged with the beating death of 29-year-old Mikhail Miller.

Miller was found dead in his cell in the F Block in Maximum Security on November 1, 2021.

During an appearance before Magistrate Samuel McKinney, Williamson claimed that officers brought Miller into the cell injured.

Williamson said, “That man came in the cell with injuries ya know.”

He continued,”I ain’t taking no charge for no one for something I didn’t do. I don’t put my hands on people children, boss.”

Magistrate McKinney told Williamson that he was remanded to prison until March 25. At that time, prosecutors will fast track the case to the Supreme Court for trial.

Williamson was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment last July for housebreaking and stealing.

Meanwhile, Miller was sentenced to three months in prison on October 8, 2021 for stealing a phone and tablet from his mother.

In 2020, police charged inmate Tyrone Butler with murder in the November 2019 beating death of his cellmate D’yanza Knowles.

Butler claimed that officers put Knowles was in his cell after other inmates beat him up.
