Hotel worker accused of raping guest

NASSAU- A Canadian who is working on a construction project at Atlantis Paradise Island resort is accused of raping a guest at the hotel.

Prosecutors allege that Wayne McCann, 28, of Ontario, raped the 21-year-old American woman in his room on May 26.

He met his alleged victim at a bar on the hotel’s property.

McCann was not required to enter a plea to the rape charge when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on May 30.

Prosecutors will send his case to the Supreme Court by presenting a voluntary bill of indictment on August 4.

Meanwhile, McCann’s bail application is set for June 8.

He’s represented by Carlson Shurland QC and Bjorn Ferguson.

  1. Please make sure to change cover photo to a white mans hands in jail as the guy was a white man not a black man. Stop subconsciously blaming black people. Do better. Thank you.
