NASSAU- An uninsured driver accused of killing a couple on Christmas Day has been remanded to prison, pending a bail hearing.
Alexander Butler, 33, crashed into the Nissan March that Brent Johnson and his wife Eulona Dean-Johnson were travelling in on West Bay Street, killing them instantly.
But Butler’s Honda Accord shouldn’t have been on the road since he didn’t have third party insurance.
Butler pleaded guilty to driving without insurance at his arraignment before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
He pleaded not guilty to two counts of killing in the course of dangerous driving.
The prosecutor asked for time to address the issue of bail.
As a result, he was remanded to prison until January 28.
