Corrections officer charged in plot to kill boss and murdered man

Shante Taylor

Nassau, BAHAMAS- A corrections officer has been accused of plotting to kill her supervisor.
Prosecutors allege that 21-year-old Shante Taylor conspired to kill her supervisor on July 30.
Law enforcement officers reportedly uncovered the plan before it could be carried out.
However, prosecutors say Taylor was part of a conspiracy that resulted in the January 20 gang-related murder of Elvardo Thompson.
He was shot dead in Pinewood Gardens.
Jamaal Hamilton, a close relative of a notorious gang boss, Shanton McSweeney, Dondre Ramsey, and Vernal Brown have been charged with Thompson’s murder.
They have all been remanded to prison to await trial.
However, the allegedly rogue corrections officer is expected to be granted emergency bail today.
